The Local

Dan here today.  Today’s restaurant is brought to you by Groupon, or Zowzee, or whatever daily deal place Beth got the coupon from.  It’s a diner-type place tucked away in Washington Park that serves homemade burgers and hot dogs.  I believe the name comes from the fact that it tries to source everything from nearby.  You may remember we first tried to go there a couple of months ago, only to discover that it closed at 3:30 every day.  The second time we went, we made sure to do so before noon.
As you can probably tell from the picture, this was not fine dining.  The restaurant was pretty small, with your typical diner counter and a few tables scattered about.  The food, however, was delicious.  Of course, it’s hard to go wrong with burgers, particularly when you put blue cheese on them, but that doesn’t change the fact that we enjoyed the meal enough to go back a second time.  The other nice thing is that the typical price of a burger is about $7, so it’s not much more expensive than getting a sandwich at Panera.  In short, this restaurant has my official seal of approval.
