Eating Well Again

Thanks to everyone for entering my giveaway!  I used random.org to pick a winner…The winner is….Laura! Girl, you have the BEST giveaway luck, isn’t this the 3rd giveaway you’ve won?  Email me your address and I’ll have the gift package sent to you.  Congrats!

Ahh, I’m finally eating good food again!  It’s been a rough week and I’m thankful that Dan is home to get things ready for me.  Despite all that I slept so late that he had to drive me to work.

Annie had brought some honey greek yogurt for book club a few weeks ago and it was still good.  I added some granola and this was a delicious, and satisfying.  Since I had one serving of each it was only about 300 calories.

daily eats-3

I wasn’t very excited about my lunch and so I jumped at the opportunity to go to Marzcyk’s.  I decided to get the Jed-I again with salami instead of prosciutto.  They gave me so much salami that I took nine slices off the sandwich and I still had enough to satisfy me.

I also picked up some Annie’s cheddar bunnies

and another San Pellegrino Limonata.  I don’t drink soda and I love this.  It does have calories/sugar (141 cals) but it’s a yummy sometimes drink.

daily eats-9

I came home to Dan making dinner and I got on the treadmill while he finished cooking.  I started walking and then decided to jog.  It felt good to sweat and get my heart rate up.

Dinner was chicken breasts (bone in, skin on) and fried polenta.

chicken and polenta-2

The chicken was OK, the polenta was really good.

Dessert was my favorite.  Strawberries and angel food cake.  I went back for seconds on the cake.

It feels so good to be treating my body well again.  I hope I can sleep a lot tonight and start feeling 100%.

What is your favorite (non-alcoholic) drink?

fried polenta sounds dreamy...so does the Jed-I :)

How do you make the polenta? I've been trying to include it more but still a little unsure. Just fry it up in a pan? Seasoning?

Food looks good! Yum!

Thanks for the fabulous give away!! I'm truly blessed these days with winning! It is my third, so I think I might need to skip some future ones so that I keep my kharma in balance. All of your food looks so yummy!

It's too close to lunch to be looking at your delicious sandwich- so hungry! Favorite drinks: mostly I just drink a ton of water with lemon. It's simple but I love it. Alcoholic beverages, that's more exciting. Red wine and dark beers in colder months, white wine in the summer and an occasional marg! -Katie

I have been wanting to try polenta for a long time. It looks great.
My non-alcoholic fav is soda water with lemon.

The fried polenta was good, but I think I preferred grilled polenta.

Amanda, we actually bought polenta (it comes in a tube like shape) but making it is easy, you can boil water and add cornmeal, I have a recipe for it here http://www.fatbustermack.com/2010/03/chicken-and-polenta.html

It looks like a consensus, I need to drink more water with lemon. yum!

I had that pellegrino soda at my moms and it was the nectar of the Gods! I love it! I can't get it in for me, because it's so light and refreshing I would probably drink it ALL day long!

I keep going back and forth on picking up the GF polenta everytime I go grocery shopping. May just have to try it out this week.
Fav. non-alcoholic beverage would probably be either Lemon Zinger Tea with stevia, or Decaf Americano with a ton of cinnamon dumped in (one of my coworkers always tells me it smells like Christmas)
