I was surprised when Dan wanted to make this recipe since it mixes savory and sweet. That is usually a don’t in his book. Thankfully he really liked this recipe. Savory and sweet is a perfect combo in my book and so I was glad to get to try this out. It was a total winner, but what isn’t when it includes sage leaves.
Pan-Fried Glazed Pork Chops
adapted from Jamie’s Food Revolution
Ingredients
- 16 ounces of pork chops
- olive oil
- salt
- pepper
- 4 sprigs fresh sage
- 1 lemon
- honey to glaze
Instructions:
Rub both sides of the chop with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Remove the stem off the sage leaves and toss in a little olive oil and set aside.
Heat a frying pan over high heat and lay both chops flat in pan and cook 4-5 minutes/side. When the chops turn golden add a few sage leaves to the pan, cook for about 30 seconds and remove.
Spoon a large tablespoon of honey over each chop and flip so that they get completely coated. When the chops turn a dark golden color remove and let them rest on a plate for a minute or two.
