The day started out like any other. a bagel and cream cheese. I wish I had a bagel thin…

My coworkers and I went on a field trip at lunch! My coworker Tom goes out for delicious sandwiches almost every day and today the rest of us wanted to check out this action. So we trekked over to Marczyks. I had no idea what to expect when we went in the store, but I was pleasantly surprised. It reminded me of a European market and housed so many treats that I remember from my time in Sweden.

The sandwich options looked so amazing. I had a hard time choosing but decided on the Jed-I

Prosciutto di Parma, fresh mozzarella, basil pesto and tomato on ciabatta.
What can I say, I’m a sucker for tomato, basil pesto and fresh mozzarella. The sandwich was a decent size, not too big, not too small.

The combination of flavors was spot on. However, by the end of the second half of the sandwich I had had enough of the prosciutto and finished with just the bread (which was AMAZING).

I mean look at it, fresh baked deliciousness! Overall, I want to go back. They offer pirate’s booty in single serve packets for a side (yum!)

The store has so many interesting goods. The cheese section looked phenomenal. I almost bought a black truffle and goat cheese wedge. Yeah, told you it was good. I also eyed a pretty extensive chocolate section…I will definitely need to go back!

Dan swam early tonight so he didn’t have dinner ready for me when I got home. (I know I’m spoiled) He suggested that I hop on the treadmill while I waited for him to come home. What a good husband. I only walked on the treadmill, but it was a good walk. Dinner was ready like a minute after I got done with my workout.
Dan made parmesan chicken breasts with crispy prosciutto. Wow, I am eating a lot of prosciutto today.

This was actually not very calorie dense (an entire chicken breast is under 400 calories). I only ate half a breast (3 oz).

So good. I also had some peas and a baked potato. Our dinners don’t often get timed right, and so they don’t always end up on the blog :)
Well, I’ve got a free cup of coffee riding on the ending of the Bachelor. I think he’s going to choose Vienna (although I don’t like her one bit!)
