Veal Chops with Mushroom Sauce

My Mom made this awesome recipe for our anniversary.  We don’t eat veal very often, but it was delicious!  The veal can be replaced with chicken or pork if you would like.
Veal Chops with Mushroom Sauce
  • 4 veal loin chops (or chicken breasts or pork chops)
  • salt and pepper
  • 3/4 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
  • 1 sliced shallot
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp flour
  • 2 tsp fresh thyme
  • 1 cup evaporated skim milk
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Heat sauté pan and add olive oil.  When the pan is hot enough add chops and sear chops until outsides are brown.  Depending on the thickness you might need to finish it off in the oven at 350 for about 10-15 minutes.

For the mushroom sauce:
Add mushrooms, shallot and butter to a medium sauce pan and cook on medium high heat.  Stir in flour and thyme.  Add the evaporated skim milk.  Stir until thick and bubbly.  Cook for 1 more minute and add the water and Worcestershire sauce.
No nutritionals since it was a celebratory meal!
