I generally have big purchase anxiety. In the did I REALLY just spend that much money? Did I really need to? Is it too big? Should I have gotten a better one?

Well, it only took a few days for that feeling to pass. The treadmill was a fantastic purchase and here is why
- I don’t have to rely on the weather. I can run whenever I want without worrying about ice or rain or heat.
- I don’t have to rely on daylight. I don’t like running at the heat of the sun or in the dark. It’s never too bright or dark at home!
- TIVO! I can catch up on my TiVo AND workout at the same time. Sweet!
- No traffic. I didn’t have to stop for any lights or stop signs.
- Better track of speed. I know exactly how far/ how fast/ how long I went. It is far superior to being outside.
- A bottle holder. I get so thirsty when I run. This way I can drink while I’m running.
My treadmill is a little bare bones. I don’t need much. I don’t like any of the preset workouts since they are more than I can do. Instead I just press start and adjust the workout to my needs.

For example, today I needed to do a big workout because of last nights excesses. I got on the treadmill and walked for 2 minutes. Then I started on the run. Thank goodness I had psych and project runway to keep me entertained!
I was running at a comfortable speed until I realized I could probably beat my 5k time from Thanksgiving I upped the speed and did 3 miles (since the 5k wasn’t exactly a 5k, it was 3 miles) in 41 minutes. I slowed down to walk for a few minutes and then decided I needed to finish 4 miles, I upped the speed and got to 4 miles in 56 minutes. and then I cooled down for the last 4 minutes of my workout. I know this doesn’t seem like far or long to most of you, but for me this is huge!
When I was running outside I couldn’t make those types of decisions since it was all guess work.

So, overall the treadmill was an amazing purchase. I’m excited to be able to workout whenever I want, in the comfort of my own home.
