Dressing recipe

I learned recently that stuffing is only stuffing when it is cooked inside the bird, otherwise it’s called dressing.  And since we are a wee bit nervous about salmonella, we didn’t even consider cooking it in the bird!  This was another dish that Annissa brought to our Thanksgiving and surprisingly enough she found the recipe on the box from Pepperidge Farms!
Traditional Turkey Dressing (stuffing)
From Pepperidge Farms

  • 2 1/2 cup Chicken Broth
  • ground black pepper
  • 1 cup (~2 stalks) chopped celery
  • 1 cup (~1 large) chopped onion
  • 16 oz pre-packaged Stuffing

Preheat oven to 350.

Mix the broth, black pepper, celery and onion in a medium pan and over medium-high heat and bring it to a boil. Once it boils, bring the heat down to low.

Cover the pot and cook for 5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Once they are tender, remove the saucepan from the heat.

Add the stuffing to the chicken broth mixture and lightly combine.  Transfer the mixture into a greased casserole dish (3 quart), cover the dish and bake for 30 minutes.
