Free Money…Sorta

When I was right out of graduate school I received a humongous bill for an anesthesiologist (thousands and thousands…EEEK)  Since I was making almost $0/hour it was a scary time.  I was able to take care of it all by myself but it was a rough time.

Fast forward to April 2009.  I got a letter from my old insurance company saying that they owed me money from that earlier bill.  The check showed up today, and while it isn’t nearly what I paid over 5 years ago.  It’s something!

Of course the check comes they day after I found out my salary was being cut again next year, and I won’t even get time off in exchange.  I’m glad to be employed, but as the sole breadwinner it is rough.

I think my stress about work etc has prompted a less structured approach to my eating. I’m still tracking all my food but most days this week the tracking happens the next days.  Snack options are decided on because of cravings not calories leftover.  I’ve been close to my calorie target every day, but I have not been mindfully eating.  Thank goodness my weight is staying pretty steady.  However, I need to stop this before it gets out of hand.

Thank goodness I kept really busy today.  I spent a good amount of time working on a photobox and organizing my computer files.  Because of all of this I haven’t had time to snack around. Yay!

Breakfast wasn’t as exciting today.  First course was pumpkin bread and all bran bran buds with Just Pineapple.

I was still hungry so I had some Arnold’s sandwich thins with strawberry preserves.

Lunch was a piece of pizza with ham and bacon.  Too much ham, I had to take it off! (I also didn’t finish the crust)

We have dinner plans again, so I’ll post dinner tomorrow!
