I won a contest! I never win contests!  I won an EatSmart Scale from Our Nutritional Endeavor.  What a coincidence that the day after I had issues with my scale (probably not the scales fault) I get a new scale!  Dan and I are both really excited to try it out!  And for those interested, the scale was nicer to me today.  I’m gonna blame mother nature.

I’m lucky enough to spend most of my workday focusing on wellness initiatives.  Can I just tell you how excited I am to not be overweight when I’m doing all of this.  I can’t wait to be an after and for people to understand that I totally have this healthy living thing down.  I can’t wait to be a living example that it can be done.  Can it come a little quicker though?  I know slow and steady wins the race.  I just want to be in the post race interview time.

On another note, have you guys heard about FitBit?  It’s a new device akin to the Bodybugg but not worn on your arm and you don’t need to pay a monthly fee to use the website.  It’s not out yet, but it definitely has my interest!

Because of the scale I have been extra vigilant about my daytime foods.  I knew my lunch would be higher calories so I picked the 115 calorie Mix 1 (with extra fiber, yay!)
Of course I had all bran bran buds and Just Pineapple.
These two things kept me satisfied until noon.  yay.  I was really excited about lunch.  Leftover tart!  yay!
Oh boy it was good the next day, even though it was a little crumbled.
I followed the tart with a giant apple.  I love fall fruit!
No day would be complete without some pumpkin bread!
I was pretty hungry by the time I came home (and walked the 12 flights of stairs, thanks for the encouragement mom!)  So I immediately ate the mashed potatoes Dan left for me.
I had to wait a little longer for the Chicken with Leeks and Apples to be done, it was worth it! (Pre cooked apples and rosemary)
My serving(served after dark). Note how it looks a little yellow-ish (this is after editing!)IMG_0434_edited-1 IMG_0436_edited-1
I have a question for all of you photographers.  I love using natural light for my food photography but it’s getting dark too early!  How do you take good pictures without natural light?  Help!  I’ve been very disappointed with my recent (yellowy) pictures.
